koi

Prior to when Santa Barbara Koi bought the store at 110 E. Montecito St in 2001, it was virtually impossible to find someone selling a healthy Koi in Santa Barbara. Now we offer, by far, the highest quality Koi. Not only are they all beautiful and vibrant, they are healthy and free of diseases.

koi

All of our Koi are personally selected by Mark and Jill during one of their annual trips to Japan.

Upon entering the United States, the imported Koi are quarantined offsite for a minimum of 16 weeks. This process locates any illnesses, diseases, and parasites. Should a health issue be found, the Koi are treated with the very best medical care available. After the quarantine process is complete, the healthy Koi are slowly moved to the retail store for sale. A healthy diet of premium Koi food, krill, cocktail shrimp, oranges (cut into quarters) and lettuce (the whole head) allow the Koi to stay strong and healthy with vibrant colors.
